Unlike other classes of device (where you're largely at the mercy of the device manufacturer and what they're willing to provide), desktop computers can be built according to your needs/specifications.

Therefore if you want something slightly unusual, for example quadruple the "average" amount of memory or storage, we will simply charge you the cost of the components, rather than what most manufacturers see as an opportunity to sell you several other items that you didn"t ask for at the same time!

We can also order laptops to your specification, or we can choose a laptop for you based on your needs, budget and our experiences of which brands provide the best value for money.

Our service includes testing the computer thoroughly first, followed by wiping it clean of all unnecessary software and installing just the necessary software for your needs. This service also includes bringing the computer to your home or business, spending up to two hours on-site setting everything up (e.g. your printer and Internet connection), as well as transferring data from your old computer to the new one.

Alternatively, you may have already ordered the device yourself and realise you need help setting it up. No problem!

We can help pick out hardware that is best suited to your needs and with knowledge and experience of other peoples' needs and what's available, ensure that you're getting the most ideal choice.  For example, the selection of monitors these days also include a range of screen technologies with different advantages, several connection systems with varying levels of interoperability, etc.

These days there are quite a few options for basic productivity software such as a word processor, spreadsheet, etc.  Are you best catered for by renting Microsoft Office 365 or buying Microsoft Office outright and potentially saving a lot of money over several years?  LibreOffice is also completely free and can read/write Word / Excel / PowerPoint documents.

Would you benefit from being easily able to access and modify your documents on "smart" devices?  We can help you navigate the choices and help set it all up for you.

For example, often one can get away with connecting a printer to a network and a Windows PC will pick it up automatically, but doing things this way will often result in only minimal printing features (e.g. lacking double-sided/duplex printing), or minimal / no scanning support with all-in-one printers (for example, missing scan-to-PDF functionality).

We will do our utmost to set up such devices as correctly and tested as thoroughly as possible.

Second-hand computers can be a bit of a gamble, but if we have a computer which has had a reliable history, we offer these as a possible extra option for those on say a tighter budget.  We normally provide the same setting-up service as with the new computers we provide (including a new Windows installation and just the software you need, so that you don't encounter difficulties associated with previous ownership), however our on-site set-up service is charged separately.
